I would like to make a couple of suggestions concerning posts on the site:

  1. Make it a standard practice to add the year of release after anime titles. It will serve as an additional cue for recognition and help to tell apart similar or identical titles, e.g. Colorful (1999) and Colorful (2010).

  2. Show the date of upload next to every file on the site. This will preempt frequent questions like "What did change?" and "Which episodes were added since the last time?".

Whoops, a little late in replying... Anyway, nice suggestions there.

The year of airing can be, I believe, added as a new tag instead (this is being done for the Spring 2014 releases and is, I believe, supposed to be done for all the new posts) - might look cleaner than adding it to the title of every post because the title is essentially supposed to be the exact name of the anime.

Well, I'm not sure - firstly since it'll work only for ongoing anime - the BD/DVD episodes are all updated together. And secondly, v2 tags are generally added if an episode is re-re-encoded/patched, along with the superscript "NEW". Hence I'm not so sure if that's necessary.

  1. Tags are not always visible, e.g. in the all projects list (where knowing the year would be most useful) or on this forum. Also adding the year of release directly to the title makes it clearly distinguishable from the date of the post and other similar information.

  2. New releases are often added to preexisting posts, making it hard to tell what is old and what is new, especially after a while. Version tags in file names do not help much, since they do not tell when the file was updated. In these situations one either has to compare the file names on the server with those on the hard drive or rely on comments from uploaders if they bother to leave them.
P.S. Knowing the year would also help to watch anime with several installments (like [Zoku/Goku/Zan] Sayonara Zetsubou Sensei) in chronological order without having to consult other internet resources.
