High Efficiency Video Coding (HEVC), also known as H.265

Hey guys love all the work you'll put in this anime site.I just downloaded a really small TV show encoded in H.265 and WOW.It was beautiful for such a small size 97mb,it  retained so much quality it was amazing.Question,do you think this can be implemented on your encodes?.Thanks for reading.

They are now using it for some of their new encodes, ie Tokyo ghoul BD

This is very good suggestion. Hi10 profile for H.264 codec AFAIK isn't supported in hardware for home use. But HEVC equipemant should support Main 10 profile by default and there are some SoC (i.e. RK3288) as well as GPU/VPUs (NV GeForce 960) which can decode that codec with ease. And many more are comming.

I think it wouldn't be so hard to decode Main 10 HEVC in software on home PC. Tablets have even problems to decompress hi10 H.264 1080p in software mode (there are major artefacts when using 8bit H.264 decoder to watch hi10 profile video stream) but there is fast migration to Main 10 HEVC decoders.
